Test description

One of the most commonly requested blood tests in medicine. It counts your red cells, white cells, and platelets — giving a broad snapshot of blood health, immune function, and oxygen-carrying capacity.

Biomarker descriptions

Haemoglobin

Haemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to every tissue in your body. Low levels — anaemia — can leave you tired and breathless, while high levels need investigation too.

White Blood Cell Count

White blood cells are your immune system's front line. A count that's too high may indicate infection or inflammation, while a low count could mean your immune defences are compromised.

Platelets

Platelets are tiny cell fragments that help your blood clot when you're injured. Abnormal platelet counts can signal bleeding disorders, bone marrow issues, or inflammatory conditions.

Red Blood Cell Count

Red blood cells deliver oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body and carry carbon dioxide back. Your RBC count is a core measure of blood health and oxygen-carrying capacity.

Inflammation Markers

CRP (High Sensitivity) ESR
Show details

Test description

Inflammation is your body's natural defence mechanism, but chronic low-grade inflammation can quietly increase health risks. This test picks up inflammatory signals that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Biomarker descriptions

CRP (High Sensitivity)

High-sensitivity C-reactive protein detects low-grade inflammation throughout the body. Mildly elevated levels are linked to increased cardiovascular risk, even when you feel perfectly well.

ESR

Erythrocyte sedimentation rate measures how quickly red blood cells settle in a test tube. Faster settling indicates inflammation somewhere in the body and can help track chronic conditions.
