Included tests and biomarkers

Full Blood Count

Sample: Blood Turnaround: 1 days
Haemoglobin White Blood Cell Count Platelets Red Blood Cell Count
Show details

Test description

One of the most commonly requested blood tests in medicine. It counts your red cells, white cells, and platelets — giving a broad snapshot of blood health, immune function, and oxygen-carrying capacity.

Biomarker descriptions

Haemoglobin

Haemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to every tissue in your body. Low levels — anaemia — can leave you tired and breathless, while high levels need investigation too.

White Blood Cell Count

White blood cells are your immune system's front line. A count that's too high may indicate infection or inflammation, while a low count could mean your immune defences are compromised.

Platelets

Platelets are tiny cell fragments that help your blood clot when you're injured. Abnormal platelet counts can signal bleeding disorders, bone marrow issues, or inflammatory conditions.

Red Blood Cell Count

Red blood cells deliver oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body and carry carbon dioxide back. Your RBC count is a core measure of blood health and oxygen-carrying capacity.

Glucose Control

Sample: Blood Turnaround: 2 days
Glucose HbA1c
Show details

Test description

Your blood sugar levels play a central role in how your body produces and uses energy. This panel gives you a complete picture of your glucose health - not just what your levels are right now, but how well your body has been managing them over the past few months. Whether you're monitoring an existing condition, want to understand your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, or simply want a clearer view of your metabolic health, this panel gives you the insight you need.

Biomarker descriptions

Glucose

Glucose is the sugar your body uses as its primary source of energy. This test measures your fasting blood glucose level - taken after you haven't eaten - which tells us how well your body is regulating sugar when it's not actively digesting a meal. Levels that are persistently elevated can indicate insulin resistance or diabetes, while unusually low levels can point to other underlying issues. It's a fundamental marker of metabolic health.

HbA1c

HbA1c (glycated haemoglobin) gives us something a single glucose reading can't: a window into your average blood sugar levels over the past 2-3 months. When glucose circulates in your bloodstream, it attaches to red blood cells - HbA1c measures how much of that has occurred. This makes it one of the most reliable indicators of long-term glucose control, and it's the test most commonly used to diagnose and monitor type 2 diabetes. Unlike fasting glucose, it doesn't require any special preparation and isn't affected by what you ate the day before.

Kidney Function

Sample: Blood Turnaround: 2 days
Creatinine Urea eGFR
Show details

Test description

Your kidneys filter around 150 litres of blood every day. This test measures how efficiently they're removing waste and gives an overall score of kidney health.

Biomarker descriptions

Creatinine

Creatinine is a waste product from normal muscle activity, filtered out by your kidneys. Measuring it tells us how efficiently your kidneys are clearing waste from your blood.

Urea

Urea is produced when your body breaks down protein, then removed by the kidneys. Elevated urea can indicate that your kidneys aren't filtering as effectively as they should.

eGFR

Estimated glomerular filtration rate calculates how well your kidneys are filtering blood, based on creatinine levels adjusted for age and sex. It's the single best overall measure of kidney function.

Lipid Profile

Sample: Blood Turnaround: 2 days
Total Cholesterol HDL Cholesterol LDL Cholesterol Triglycerides
Show details

Test description

A comprehensive look at the fats circulating in your blood. This test measures your cholesterol and triglyceride levels to help assess your cardiovascular risk and guide heart-healthy decisions.

Biomarker descriptions

Total Cholesterol

A measure of all the cholesterol circulating in your blood. While cholesterol is essential for building cells and producing hormones, too much can increase your risk of heart disease.

HDL Cholesterol

Often called 'good' cholesterol, HDL helps carry excess cholesterol away from your arteries and back to the liver for removal. Higher levels are associated with a lower risk of heart disease.

LDL Cholesterol

Known as 'bad' cholesterol, LDL can build up on artery walls and form plaques that narrow blood vessels. Keeping LDL in range is one of the most important steps for heart health.

Triglycerides

Triglycerides are fats your body stores for energy. Elevated levels — often linked to diet, alcohol intake, or metabolic conditions — can contribute to artery hardening and increase cardiovascular risk.

Liver Function

Sample: Blood Turnaround: 2 days
ALT AST GGT Albumin Bilirubin
Show details

Test description

Your liver works around the clock — processing nutrients, filtering toxins, and producing vital proteins. This test checks key liver enzymes and proteins to make sure everything is running smoothly.

Biomarker descriptions

ALT

Alanine aminotransferase is an enzyme found mainly in your liver. When liver cells are damaged, ALT is released into the bloodstream, making it one of the first markers to flag potential liver issues.

AST

Aspartate aminotransferase is found in your liver, heart, and muscles. Raised levels can indicate liver inflammation or damage, and the ratio of AST to ALT helps clinicians pinpoint the cause.

GGT

Gamma-glutamyl transferase is an enzyme closely linked to bile duct function. Elevated GGT is often one of the earliest signs of liver stress, particularly from alcohol use or medication.

Albumin

Albumin is the most abundant protein in your blood, produced by the liver. It keeps fluid in your bloodstream and carries nutrients and hormones. Low levels can signal liver or kidney problems.

Bilirubin

Bilirubin is a yellow pigment produced when red blood cells break down. Your liver processes it for removal. Elevated levels can cause jaundice and may point to liver or gallbladder issues.

Thyroid Function

Sample: Blood Turnaround: 3 days
TSH Free T4
Show details

Test description

Evaluates thyroid hormone balance.

Biomarker descriptions

TSH

Thyroid stimulating hormone

Free T4

Unbound thyroxine

Vitamin & Energy Screen

Sample: Blood Turnaround: 3 days
Vitamin B12 Folate Vitamin D Ferritin
Show details

Test description

Feeling tired all the time? This test checks the vitamins and minerals most commonly linked to fatigue — B12, folate, vitamin D, and iron stores — so you can take targeted action.

Biomarker descriptions

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is vital for nerve function, red blood cell production, and DNA synthesis. Deficiency can develop gradually and cause fatigue, numbness, and cognitive difficulties.

Folate

Folate (vitamin B9) is essential for cell division and DNA repair. It's especially important during pregnancy. Low levels can contribute to anaemia and are easily correctable with diet or supplements.

Vitamin D

25-hydroxy vitamin D

Ferritin

Iron storage protein
